Silver Sassies

(including seated dance and exercise, dance for dementia and dance for Parkinson's)

We run low impact classes for older participants. These include Senior Sassies (low impact dance routines for active retirees) and Seated Sassies (dance and exercise carried out in chairs or with support. Perfect for less active participants and those recovering from injury or operations) We welcome all dancers, no previous experience necessary, work at your own pace. We have plenty of breaks and opportunities to chat. We deliver dance classes for dementia groups through care homes, day centres and private companies such as Southampton Care In Action. This term we aren't running community based classes specifically for dementia or Parkinson's but we really do welcome all dancers into our community. You are more than welcome to come along and watch a class before deciding to participate.

Senior Sassies sessions run Tuesdays during term time at Botley Market Hall, 10.30am - 11.15am (drop in or book at backbeat.bookwhen.com) and Thursdays at David Lloyd, West End 10.40am - 11.25am (membership required for this one).

Seated dance for dementia

We are currently seeking funding to run our gentle, chair based movement and music sessions for those with dementia and their partners/friends/carers. These would run Tuesdays in Botley at 2pm. Please get in touch if you think you could help.
